Job Summary
The P&S Department invites applications for the above for appointment as soon as possible. This position is to drive students and staff between UCT Campuses, residences and shuttle stops. The successful candidate shall report to the Operations Manager.
Requirements
- A Grade 12 certificate or NQF level 4 qualification
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant bus driving experience in the Passenger Transport Industry
- An unendorsed South African Driver’s license – Code C or EC
- A valid professional driver’s permit (PrDP)
- Customers focus with good communication skills.
- An ability to work in a team and under pressure.
- The incumbent will be required to work shifts.
- Being in possession of an Advanced driving certificate is advantageous
Duties And Responsibilities
- Driving UCT students and staff and visitors on and between campuses / residence as per waybill system.
- Applying defensive techniques when driving.
- Ensuring that the vehicles you use are kept in a clean, tidy, and road-worthy condition always.
- Complying with the rules and regulations of the National Road Traffic Agency.
- Attend to and report emergency situations regarding shuttle operations.
- Providing excellent face-to-face customer service to clients.
- Other related duties that may be allocated to you.
