Job Description
Afrimat Mining Services based based in the Northern Cape (Kathu) region has a vacancy for:
HSE Learnership (Health, Safety & Environmental)
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- SAMTRAC / H&S Representative Training or equivalent is required
Previous exposure in the mining and quarrying industry is essential - Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and related mining regulations
- Good administrative abilities – must have experience in MS Office
- Exercise due diligence with strong attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Must be able to build and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory organizations
- Must align with company values of trust, accountability, integrity, teamwork, respect, and safety
- Ability to take initiative and carry out duties independently
- Flexible working hours are required due to the remote nature of operational sites
- Must be medically fit for work
Duties And Responsibilities
- Participate in / conduct HSE inspections as per the established schedule
- Participate in / assist in recording, reporting, and investigating incidents and accidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and monitored
- Manage and oversee day-to-day HSE functions within your designated area, ensuring all activities align with legal and company standards
- Maintain and manage operational HSE files, ensuring they are complete, up-to-date, and compliant with client and regulatory requirements
- Assist with / conduct audits on HSE files and submit monthly reports for review and further action
