Job Description
Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of a Cashier for their Pretoria branch. This incumbent will be reporting to the Branch Manager.
The purpose of this role is to process all cash transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Process sales transactions and payments.
- Ensure all prices and quantities are exact, and present them with a receipt.
- Cash reconciliation and banking
- Maintain cash control over the register drawer and ensure the amounts are proper.
- Handle debtors and other creditors’ inquiries.
- Handle layaways, refunds, and exchanges, and address consumer complaints.
- Answer all incoming calls and direct to the appropriate extension.
- Acknowledge visitors and swiftly address their needs.
- Scan the POD and other audit needs.
- Report discrepancies to management on a daily basis
- Keep reports of transactions.
- Stay updated on product promotions, commercials, and information.
- Assist with any basic administrative responsibilities as requested by management.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Previous cashier and electrical sales experience would be ADVANTAGEOUS
- Strong knowledge of electrical products would be ADVANTAGEOUS
- Knowledge of administrative office procedures, practices and equipment
- Knowledge of financial system, K8 is an ADVANTAGE
- Strong knowledge of computer software packages and MS Office
