Job description
MSC runs a learnership programme every year to give young people the chance to get theoretical and practical experience in the maritime industry. Learnerships are provided in Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria, and Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha).
Each phase continues for a duration of 12 months.
MSC will fully cover the cost of studies, as well as provide a monthly stipend and a yearly bonus depending on the learnership conditions (attendance, assessments, behavior, etc.). At the end of each step, students will get a nationally recognized qualification that includes experiential training.
Requirements
- The position requires a Grade 12 / Matric with a minimum GPA of C, including Math.
- This position requires a computer savvy worker who is industrious, dependable, systematic, and has strong communication skills and work experience.
- Youth from defined categories (under 25 years old) will be considered.
- Learners must finish the Learnership in the designated region for the specified time, which cannot be modified.
Available Learnerships
MSC has devised a 3-phased learnership plan, namely:
- International trade.
- Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance.
- Further Education and Training Certificate in Shipping.
