The Climate Cluster team in Hatfield, Pretoria is looking for a proactive Administrative Assistant who can offer hands-on support with driving, logistics, and office administration. You will provide critical transport, logistics and administrative support to the JUST SA project and the broader Climate Cluster.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Driving and Transport
- Safely transporting project staff, guests and goods – primarily within Gauteng and Mpumalanga – with flexibility for occasional overnight trips
- Managing trip logbooks and ensuring all travel is recorded and signed off
- Running official errands and supporting logistics for events and workshops
- Maintaining the cleanliness, roadworthiness, and safety of the vehicle, and ensuring timely servicing and minor repairs
- Vehicle Management and Fleet Support
- Conducting routine vehicle checks (oil, tyres, water, lights, etc.) and ensuring safety compliance.
- Managing vehicle documentation and monthly fuel usage tracking.
- Supporting vehicle insurance claims and registration processes.
- Leading SOP development and vehicle booking system management
- Administrative Support
- Standing in for the administrative assistant when needed
- Relocating office furniture and keeping storerooms organised and stocked
- Assisting with procurement and logistics planning for events
- Knowledge Management
- Keeping the team informed about changes in driving regulations
- Assisting seconded colleagues with vehicle registration and licensing
- Sharing traffic and route updates via the cluster’s communication channels.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4)
- Valid Code 10 driver’s licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- 1–3 years of relevant experience with solid references
- No major accidents within the past 3 years
- Good command of English
- Familiarity with Gauteng and Mpumalanga road networks
