Requirements
- Grade 12
- Mathematics (not Maths Literacy): 60% and above.
- Physical Science: 60% and above.
Skills And Competences
- Curious mentality with strong problem-solving (reasoning) abilities.
- Ability to work in a pressurized situation.
- Capable of working in a team and with minimal supervision.
- I enjoy dealing with mechanical systems and am technically inclined.
- Process orientation and process improvement attitude.
Duties
- Complete academic training through SAGMA while doing practical work in a milling environment.
- Work in selected areas based on your study modules to obtain practical experience and translate theoretical knowledge into practical understanding.
- Learn all of each department’s critical competencies to gain a comprehensive understanding of the milling supply chain.
- Under the supervision of the Production Manager/Head Miller, operate a mill at a specified capacity with optimum extractions and create final products suitable for human consumption.
The apprenticeship will last three years and will include both theoretical self-learning and practical application training (working shifts, weekends, and public holidays).
