Key Responsibilities
- Drive buses along designated routes in a safe and timely manner.
- Adhere to timetable, maintain regular stops and follow route guidelines.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting from the bus.
- Ensure the bus is clean and well-maintained.
- Check the bus for safety issues and perform minor repairs.
- Handle passenger emergencies or disruptions.
- Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and road safety
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Drivers Licence Code 10
PDP - A formal qualification would be an added advantage
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in driving with clear driving record.
Skills And Competencies
- Organised
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Must be a self-starter and can use own initiative
- Must be able to communicate with people on all levels.
- Proven work experience as a Bus Driver
- Knowledge of local and regional bus routes
- Good driving record with no traffic violations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor bus issues
