The Climate Cluster team in Hatfield, Pretoria is looking for a proactive Administrative Assistant who can offer hands-on support with driving, logistics, and office administration. You will provide critical transport, logistics and administrative support to the JUST SA project and the broader Climate Cluster.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Driving and Transport
    • Safely transporting project staff, guests and goods – primarily within Gauteng and Mpumalanga – with flexibility for occasional overnight trips
    • Managing trip logbooks and ensuring all travel is recorded and signed off
    • Running official errands and supporting logistics for events and workshops
    • Maintaining the cleanliness, roadworthiness, and safety of the vehicle, and ensuring timely servicing and minor repairs
  • Vehicle Management and Fleet Support
    • Conducting routine vehicle checks (oil, tyres, water, lights, etc.) and ensuring safety compliance.
    • Managing vehicle documentation and monthly fuel usage tracking.
    • Supporting vehicle insurance claims and registration processes.
    • Leading SOP development and vehicle booking system management
  • Administrative Support
    • Standing in for the administrative assistant when needed
    • Relocating office furniture and keeping storerooms organised and stocked
    • Assisting with procurement and logistics planning for events
  • Knowledge Management
    • Keeping the team informed about changes in driving regulations
    • Assisting seconded colleagues with vehicle registration and licensing
    • Sharing traffic and route updates via the cluster’s communication channels.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4)
  • Valid Code 10 driver’s licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience with solid references
  • No major accidents within the past 3 years
  • Good command of English
  • Familiarity with Gauteng and Mpumalanga road networks
