Job Description
Drive a medium motor vehicle (rigid) with a gross combined mass greater than 3 500 kg but less than 16,000 kg in line with predetermined work objectives/standard operating procedures and applicable road rules.
Requirements
- Grade 12 is similar to NQF Level 4.
- Code 10 license with PDP.
- At least three years of experience in a similar job.
- A clean criminal record.
- Experience in the agricultural industry will be beneficial.
- Proven ability to maneuver, reverse, and pack a vehicle into tight areas.
- Good client interaction skills with both internal and external customers.
- A willingness to labor overtime, include.
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled deliveries and collections to and from specified locations as directed by management.
- Strict adherence to commercial driving restrictions when driving on public highways.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections on the vehicle in accordance with business policy.
- Ensure that products are properly secured before departure, and that vehicle seals/locks are not tampered with upon arrival at the destination.
- Ensure that all deliveries are signed and delivered to the intended recipient.
- Ensure that logbooks and other delivery documentation are completed accurately and in full.
