Job Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our catering team in Atok. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals using standardized recipes while ensuring hygiene, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role also involves contributing to menu planning, cost control, and operational improvements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and customer specifications

Cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups, gravies, cereals, bakery products, salads, and desserts

Prepare meals for special dietary requirements as prescribed by qualified personnel

Grill, fry, and cook food using various preparation methods

Plan and manage work orders to ensure timely and coordinated meal service

Assist with on-the-job training and guide food service staff where required

Monitor stock levels, check deliveries, and report shortages to management

Maintain accurate food production and kitchen records

Ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation at all times

Clean kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment; secure fridges and freezers

Report equipment faults and food quality issues promptly

Work shifts, including weekends and night shifts

Lift and handle heavy kitchen equipment when required

Minimum Requirements

Matric (Grade 12)

Relevant culinary or catering qualification

2–4 years’ experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
