A respected firm in Gauteng is looking for a dependable and experienced driver to join their logistics and distribution team. This position is suitable for those who are enthusiastic about road transportation, customer service, and ensuring that items arrive safely and effectively.
The chosen applicant will be responsible for hauling items in light and large vehicles weighing between 3501 kg and 9000 kg. This role needs a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and a dedication to upholding vehicle standards and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely carrying commodities to various places in Gauteng
- Ensure that all products are loaded securely to prevent damage during shipment.
- Supervising and aiding in the loading and unloading of goods
- Performing daily vehicle checks before and after journeys.
- Identifying and reporting any mechanical flaws or defects immediately.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and overall condition of the allocated vehicle.
- Verifying delivery amounts and verifying order correctness.
- Managing delivery documents, including getting the necessary authorizations
- Managing cash-on-delivery (COD) transactions ethically and correctly.
- Providing professional and courteous customer service at all delivery locations
- Following corporate practices to save operational and vehicle-related expenditures.
- Maintaining corporate principles, policies, and standards at all times.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or similar qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with codes 8 (Light Vehicle) or 10 (Heavy Vehicle).
- At least two years of relevant driving and delivery experience.
- A clean driving record without any severe traffic offenses.
- Good grasp of road safety standards and traffic legislation
- Capability to do bodily duties like loading and unloading objects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
