Minimum Requirements
- ABET Level 4 or Grade 10 qualification
- Valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s licence with a valid PDP
- Driver’s licence must be unendorsed
- Knowledge of surrounding hospitals and clinics
- Understanding of legislative prescripts governing the health sector
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
Key Responsibilities
- Transport staff, patients, and official documents safely and timeously
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Report vehicle faults, damages, or defects promptly (within 24 hours)
- Compile incident and damage reports when required
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness at all times
- Perform minor roadside tasks such as changing a flat tyre when necessary
- Comply with the Department of Transport handbook and safety regulations
- Work shifts as required
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
