Job Description
The goal of this job is to ensure that stock is priced, packed, and displayed in a professional manner, that it is readily available and of good quality for customer purchase, and that it results in a pleasant shopping experience for the customer, thereby increasing sales and profit margins. This involves ensuring that fixed displays are developed and placed to present products in order to maximize internal advertising.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Candidates who do not have a Matric but have completed Retail Operations Leadership and/or NQF 3 Stock Management courses totaling at least 54 credits will be considered for the post.
- 1 year of experience in a similar capacity or entry-level stock exposure.
- Basic product knowledge.
- Capability to handle pressure.
- Ability to communicate well (both verbally and writing).
- Numerically skilled.
- Creative abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that merchandise is cleanly packaged and exhibited in a professional way, including accessibility for clients, by categorizing goods more efficiently.
- Ensure that the matching transfer number matches the page transfer number with information contained, i.e. (proper branch transfer from, to, and dated).
- Ensure that all goods are appropriately priced and correspond to the shelf talker.
- Ensure that all shelf talkers are clean and positioned far left of the product.
- When merchandising stock, use the “Block System”.
- Ensure that the store floor and aisles are clean, clear of merchandise, and accessible to consumers.
- Remove all risks and goods from under the shelves.
- Create an overall promotional and display plan for approval.
- Obtain props and other accessories to create exhibits.
- Follow the store protocol, which includes all of the above at all times.
- Participate in everlasting stocktakes.
- Maintain a clean work space.
- Perform any work-related activities specified by supervisor.
