Job Description
The PathCare Academy encourages responsible and respectable persons who have a strong work ethic and are attentive to client requirements to apply for the Phlebotomy Technician Learnership, which begins in 2027.
Theoretical training will take place at one of three PathCare Academy campuses, while practical training will be provided in PathCare Laboratories and depots around South Africa.
Requirements
- NSC Grade 12 pass
- With: Life Science/Biology ≥ 50% – Level 4 or HBM ≥ 60% WITH Mathematics ≥ 40% (Level 3) or Math Literacy ≥ 60% (Level 5).
Skills and Competencies
- Read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Read, write, and understand basic Afrikaans.
- Ability to operate well both individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under stress and study intensively
- Possess a strong work ethic.
- Willing to collect and/or process blood products
- Ability to deliver good service and respond to consumer demands
- Willingness to work shifts and after hours, as needed
The Selection Process
The competitive selection procedure will involve the following:
- Screening applications and academic results
- Selected candidates will be shortlisted and invited to take proficiency exams.
- The highest scoring applicants on the above will be invited to panel interviews.
