Job Description
Onsite Safety Officers are responsible for implementing and maintaining site-specific safety, health, and environmental standards in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures, client site SHE requirements, and legal requirements for specified contracts.
Requirements
- Matric (Senior Certificate).
- Valid South African driver’s license.
- Risk assessment and incident investigation.
- Samtrac, Incident Investigation, Legal Liability, Fall Protection Plan Developer, HIRA, Root Cause Analysis, and Bidvest Prestige activities across all sectors.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (intermediate skill level).
- Knowledge of OHS and COID Acts, Industry SANS standards linked to Bidvest Prestige service offerings.

Main outputs
- Create and manage health and safety files for specific contracts.
- Generate site SHE-related reports and communicate with the Operations Manager and the customer.
- Create and manage site risk assessments, safe working procedures, and planned task observations.
- Monitor PPE, legal appointments, competences, fire equipment, and medicals.
- Conduct planned task observations.
- Report, investigate occurrences, create reports, communicate, and follow up.
