Job Description

Dis-Chem Medi The Club seeks a Frontshop Assistant to maintain merchandising standards while providing customer care at the point of sale in accordance with Dis-Chem regulations and procedures.

Requirements

  • Grade 12: Matric or Senior Certificate
  • 0-6 months of retail employment experience

Advantageous:

  • One year of retail experience.
  • Certificate in Retail Business Management.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that a full selection of items is always available and nicely exhibited on the shelves.
  • Maintain the goods on the shelf to ensure it has not passed the sell-by date.
  • Restock products as required to maximize sales.
  • All out-of-stock inquiries from customers must be followed up on in accordance with the customer service out-of-stock list, and they must be resolved in a timely way.
  • Ensure that supplied stock and/or items removed from the storeroom are stowed and packaged in the appropriate location.
  • Ensure that item displays, labels, and pricing are proper at all times, and report any price inconsistencies to management.
  • Ensure that the storage is orderly, nice, and tidy.
  • Follow Dis-Chem policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Follow Health and Safety standards and regulations.
  • Follow the Dis-Chem uniform and personal appearance guidelines.

Competencies:

  • Understanding retail operations and administration allows for effective problem-solving and escalation to appropriate levels.
  • Understanding essential mathematical operations include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • conveys thoughts and information verbally via language.
  • Answers client inquiries promptly.
  • Recognizes the importance of protocols and adheres to them.
  • Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and accomplishes outcomes with minimal supervision.

Advantageous:

  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and math abilities. SAP.

Special terms of employment:

  • Able to work retail hours.
  • South African citizen.
  • MIE, no criminal record, and a clean credit rating
  • Obtain a driver’s license and have dependable transportation.
