Job Description
The Building Company is encouraging south african youth who are interested in changing their lives and shaping the economy to apply for W&RSETA learnerships for 2026.
Responsibilities
- Attend all theoretical training sessions led by the course provider.
- Complete tests, assignments, and Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) in accordance with the W&RSETA standards.
- Perform workplace tasks linked to retail operations, including:
- Helping consumers and providing basic customer service.
- Merchandise and restock stock.
- Supporting point-of-sale (POS) activities (where applicable).
- Maintaining shop cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
- Follow the company’s rules, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Comply with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Maintain correct logbook entries and track job experience.
- Display professional behavior, timeliness, and regular attendance.
- Collaborate with supervisors, mentors, and facilitators to promote learning development.
Requirements
- Unemployed and qualified for a W&RSETA learnership.
- Minimum qualification: grade 12
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- South African citizen (subject to financial criteria)
- Clear criminal record
- Willingness to work retail hours (including weekends and public holidays, if appropriate)
- Must not have done an unemployed learnership previously.
