Purpose of the role
The General Worker is responsible for sorting, packing, and ensuring fruit quality according to company standards. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to health and food safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Fruit Sorting & Packing
- Sort fruit by quality, size, and maturity, removing any that do not meet specifications.
- Pack fruit into specified packaging while maintaining product integrity.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks, including lifting items up to 10kg.
- Flexible and willing to work weekends in line with operational requirements.
- Production Efficiency & Compliance
- Work efficiently to meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Always ensure adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Comply with food safety standards and company procedures.
- Understanding of stock processes and systems.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Previous experience working in a production environment
