Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies seeks a Receiving Clerk for their new store in Leratong City. You will ensure that merchandise is received and packed efficiently and accurately in accordance with Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures and criteria, as well as client demands inside the shop.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Computer literate
- Good numerical skills
- Willing and capable of working retail hours
Advantageous:
- Previous receiving, retail, or FMCG experience.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Correctly check, scan, and capture physical products received for the shop in compliance with business policy and regular operating processes.
- Receive all warehouse products and bills in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Return any unsold or damaged products supplied to the shop and precisely complete credit notes for non-acceptance in compliance with business policy and SOPs.
- Verify and confirm delivery and invoices for complete correctness.
- Ensure that the products supplied match the commodities invoiced and documented in terms of quantity, variation, and condition.
- Assist the Receiving Manager in drafting and entering warehouse claims into the warehouse claims system.
- Ensure the flow of stock receipts via receiving is maintained, that supplies arriving are receipted on the same day and distributed to the floor.
- Process all returns to suppliers in line with the company’s SOPs.
- Ensure that all physical controls for the goods receiving area are in place and working.
- Maintain the storerooms in a satisfactory and organized state.
- Help manage and control high-risk stocks.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of receiving operational procedures and administration
- Strong mastery of the English language.
- Effective relationship with suppliers, managers, representatives, and employees.

Advantageous:
- Bilingual operation of the stock rotation system.
Special terms of employment:
- Willing and capable of working retail hours
- Able and physically fit to handle and transport large boxes (above 20kg)
