Job Summary
A driver with outstanding driving abilities is needed. Well-groomed, on time, and ready to work extra and shifts. The incumbent must have a solid driving record and at least three years of experience. Be mindful of the details.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Safely load, transport, and deliver products to customers in a timely manner
- Verify delivery documentation before and after delivery
- Ensure delivery notes, trip sheets, and related documentation are signed and returned
- Operate trucks, overhead cranes, and forklifts safely where required
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods
- Follow designated routes and delivery schedules
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety standards
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete safety checklists
- Report mechanical issues, delays, and road incidents to the Logistics Supervisor
- Ensure vehicles are not overloaded and comply with axle weight regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and proper fueling of the assigned vehicle
- Participate in debrief and safety meetings
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Have a valid code 14 driver’s license and valid PDP.
- Minimum of 3 years previous driving experience with a horse and trailer
- Having knowledge of specialised steel is recommended.
- The incumbent must be self-driven and be able to work under pressure.
- Must be fluent in English (read, speak, and write) and be able to communicate effectively with any given group.
