🔹 Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 or equivalent (NQF Level 2)
- Ability to read and write in English
- Good communication and planning skills
- Experience in CSSD and Theatre will be an added advantage
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
- Physically fit to meet the demands of the role
- Sound understanding of Batho Pele Principles
- Willingness to work shifts and rotational duties
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards at all times
- Apply principles of infection control and distinguish between clean and dirty areas
- Dispose of waste in line with internal policies and procedures
- Collect CSSD instruments from Theatres, ICU, Maternity, and Emergency Department (Casualty)
- Ensure all instruments and loan sets are complete and in good working condition
- Clean, sort, compile, pack, and autoclave instruments
- Pack soft packs and operate instrument washers and autoclaves
- Unpack, fold, and manage clean linen and gowns according to prescribed standards
- Maintain instrument registers and daily statistics
- Conduct Attest and Bowie-Dick tests for quality control
- Clean and maintain surgeons’ boots regularly
- Promote ethical conduct, professional growth, and self-development
- Perform additional lawful duties as delegated by the Supervisor
- Work under the supervision of a Professional Nurse
