Main job purpose
To assist the driver in loading and offloading glass and maneuvering the vehicle in the safest possible manner for delivery to customers, trucks should be loaded and offloaded onto a level surface or as close to it as possible, loads should be secured according to loading and offloading procedure, and glass should be double checked during trips that it is always properly tied and loaded in a safe manner.
Main Objective
- Look for the best location to load and unload the vehicle.
- While loading, complete the quality check sheet.
- Load and unload in a safe manner. Assist the driver and report any property damage.
- Before driving away from a customer, make sure the weight is constrained once more.
- Assist the driver when reversing or driving the truck in restricted places or in locations where visibility is limited.
- Assist with paperwork control if possible.
- All job instructions, normal operating procedures, and corporate rules must be followed.
- Follow environmental, safety, and housekeeping guidelines.
- Any other tasks assigned by the plant supervisor must be completed to the best of your ability.
- Willing to work overtime and on weekends as needed
Requirements
- Grade 12/ Matric
- Code 10 or higher valid driver’s license with PrDP will be an advantage.

Experience
- Experience handling and transporting hazardous materials
- Handling experience with many sorts of glass items
- Understanding, comprehension, and reading of designs and production orders
- Experience with glass handling and quality control is required.
