Job Overview
We are currently recruiting professional Armed Security Guards for a contractor position in the Vaal area. The successful candidates will provide a visible and effective security presence to protect people, property, and assets, while ensuring compliance with site rules, company policies, and applicable legislation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain lawful possession and safe control of assigned firearm while on duty
- Provide a visible armed security presence to deter and respond to criminal activity
- Perform access control duties, including credential checks and authorised bag/vehicle searches
- Conduct static guarding and routine patrols (on foot or by vehicle where required)
- Observe, report, and document suspicious activities and incidents
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, medical emergencies, fires, or security breaches
- Use de-escalation and non-lethal force techniques as a primary response
- Employ firearm usage strictly in accordance with company policy and South African law
- Preserve evidence and maintain proper chain of custody when required
- Complete accurate incident and occurrence reports
- Maintain communication logs and coordinate with supervisors, SAPS, and emergency services
- Conduct routine equipment and firearm safety checks, including cleaning
- Attend required training and maintain all relevant certifications
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid PSiRA Certificate (mandatory)
- Valid armed security guard licence / firearm permit
- Current firearm competency and qualification
- Matric / Grade 12 qualification
- Valid driver’s licence (required for vehicle patrol roles)
- Clean criminal record with successful background and suitability checks
- Physically fit and able to work shifts
