Duties & Responsibilities
On Site Security
- Complete a weekly checklist of any abnormalities or dangers to personnel, the facility, or the equipment as specified in the document. These concerns are examined on a daily basis, however the checklist should be submitted regularly. This document should be delivered to the Client Security Manager.
- Ensure the security of all client firm assets and equipment, such as server rooms, fire sprinkler pump rooms, generator rooms, and so on.
- Ensure that the building’s alarm system is operational and that any oddities, such as ATS failures, are reported.
- Oversee the on-site security function in accordance with their established standard operating procedures.
Reports
- Ensure that all incident/occurrence reports are comprehensive.
- Make sure all reports are correct and that all recipients are kept up to date.
- Ensure that all reports are submitted on time and within the timeframes.
Systems
- All systems are completely functioning, and any anomalies are notified promptly. For example, the fire alarm panel is free of defects, the perimeter electric fence has no faults, and so on.
- Investigations completed on time and appropriately.
Health and Safety
- Ensure that staff conform to OHASA requirements. Refer to the onsite House Rules Document.
- Attend to any staff health and safety problems and report them to the Plant Manager and the Client Security Manager.
Security staff
- Ensure that all Thorburn employees are fully staffed and dressed appropriately for work.
- Ensure that all on-site security personnel get training in accordance with the site SOP and are properly inducted by Thorburn Security Management.
- Ensure that they adhere to client procedures and policies.
- Ensure that they are aware of all alert signals and how to respond to them.
Alarm activations.
- Respond to all alarm activations in a timely manner.
- Ensure that proper processes are followed in the case of an alarm activation.
Queries
- All inquiries are addressed in a timely manner.
Testing
- Ensure that all testing protocols are followed.
- Use the reset key to fire the shatter glass unit.
- Test all fire escapes to sound an intrusion alert.
- Ensure that the evacuation system operates at the right times.
- Generator and fire sprinkler system.
- Ensure that testing is conducted on a regular basis and recorded as prescribed.
Administration
- All administrative tasks are handled promptly and accurately.
- Experience with Security Risk Control.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Have inventive, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication.
- MS Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Skills and Competencies
- Willing to work 12 hours shifts
