Job Description
We are looking for a Cleaner to join our Warehouse team.
Responsibilities
- Every office should be cleaned on a daily basis.
- Dust, damp wipe, wash, and/or polish furniture, ledges, windowsills, cabinets, shelves and fittings, computers, and telephones twice a week (Monday and Thursday).
- Daily, empty all garbage containers in all offices, canteens, and locker rooms.
- Daily vacuum carpeted areas.
- Every restroom should be cleaned twice a day.
- Twice a day, check and restock toilet paper and other bathroom essentials.
- Check that Canon Hygiene replaces the sanitary bins, hand soap, sanitizer, and freshener, and discuss any concerns with the line manager.
- After each tea and lunch break, clean the canteen area.
- Clean the insides of the kitchenettes and canteen kitchen cupboards on a monthly basis.
- Wash dishes (cups, plates, cutlery, glasses, etc.) as needed, but always after each tea and lunch seating, and keep the kitchen tidy.
- Every month, clean the office walls and windows.
- Always utilize the proper cleaning chemicals and equipment, and report any shortages or requirements to your line manager.
- When not in use, ensure that all equipment and cleaning products are neatly stored in the designated place.
- Complete all relevant documentation, including details on cleaning materials and kitchen supplies usage and reordering.
- Report any blown light bulbs, plumbing issues, or other flaws to your Line Manager.
- As needed, assist the Head Office Tea Attendant/Cleaner.
- Attend and take part in team meetings.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure that team goals are met.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.
- Follow warehouse standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Maintain housekeeping requirements, such as ensuring that all areas are clean of wrapping, debris, and broken product.
- Ensure that the work environment is nice and tidy before departing at the conclusion of each shift, and that all cleaning items are properly stored.
- Handle all stock in line with stock handling signage, for example, this way up, with care.
- Make certain that harm is kept to a minimal.
- All damaged or missing stock should be recorded and reported to the line manager.
- As needed, do other general warehouse responsibilities across multiple warehouse functions to meet operational efficiencies and requirements.
Requirements
- Matric
Experience And Skills
- Minimum of one year of experience in a similar function in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of various cleaning products.
- Capability to work with cleaning equipment and machinery.
- When necessary, the ability to work overtime, including shifts and weekends, is essential.
