📞 SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR (X2 POSTS)

Salary: R193 359 per annum (Level 04)

The Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for two (2) Switchboard Operator positions available in the following districts:

  • Vhembe Central – Ref No: LDARD 31/11/2025 (X1 Post)
  • Mopani North – Ref No: LDARD 32/11/2025 (X1 Post)

🔍 Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA
  • Certificate or qualification in Telephone Etiquette will be an added advantage

🧠 Knowledge, Competencies & Skills

  • Ability to operate switchboard and telephone systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and professional telephone manner
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Basic record-keeping skills
  • Knowledge and application of Batho Pele Principles

🛠 Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to all incoming and outgoing telephone calls
  • Transfer calls to the relevant extensions efficiently
  • Provide accurate information to clients and stakeholders
  • Take, record, and relay messages to relevant officials
  • Maintain records of outgoing calls
  • Print and issue telephone accounts
  • Maintain and update the telephone database
  • Allocate PIN codes when authorised
  • Identify and report telephone system faults to the supervisor
